We wanted to share a Thank You note we received recently from Sister Jenna King’s Grandmother, Martha King (Oak Park, CA.). She explained that her daughter had recently reported to the Missionary Training Center in Utah to prepare to serve and preach the people of the Philippines in the Cavite Mission, and asked if we could deliver a Harvest bag to the MTC…which we did for her.
We were thrilled to see a review Zion Bags: The Bag Perfect for Missionaries of our Harvest Missionary bag in the latest post from Celestial Shine Magazine and wanted to share it with you below…
When we first received the Harvest Missionary Bag from Zion Bags in the mail, my initial reaction was, “WOW!” I couldn’t believe the amount of pockets and the well-thought-out design that the company has put into these bags for missionaries (and anyone who just wants a really amazing messenger bag!)
You can fit all of these items in the bag, including a laptop or tablet, cell phone, umbrella, helmet, other missionary materials like DVDs and booklets, and still have plenty of space! (I just prefer the small Preach My Gospel, but the Harvest Bag will easily fit the full size book as well!)
Part of the fun and satisfaction of a project like Zion Bags is knowing that an idea that began only 2 years ago is today being carried, literally, all over the world. We are humbled and grateful to all the missionaries that have put their confidence and trust in our bags. We feel like we are companions with you in the mission field.
With this early success, has come a lot of responsibility. We know that our bags have to withstand every climate and condition in which our missionaries are serving in the more than 400 missions worldwide. This is our goal and commitment to you!
Recently our co-founder Shawn was reading one of the future missionary notices we receive daily. One of the announcements stood out to him because a missionary had been called to labor in the same mission his oldest son served in, the Cambodia Phnom Penh Mission. Shawn not only knew what was ahead for this young missionary because he had experienced his son’s trials through his weekly letters for 2 years, he also experienced it 1st hand when he had the privilege of traveling to Cambodia and bringing his son home. It was the harshest and most physically challenging 10 days of his life!
Because of his personal experience, Shawn felt compelled to reach out to this young Cambodia-bound missionary and assisted him in acquiring one of our Endure bags.
A few days later we received this letter.
I got a surprise today and my bag ended up coming today instead of Saturday like we originally thought. My parents and I are so impressed with the bag! You seriously thought of everything with this. There are tons and tons of pockets everywhere, interior and exterior, which will be so nice for storing whatever I need to store. The material is good for almost any weather conditions, and the little rain cover is really nice. I really like the look of the bag, and I like that there is a belt to wear while riding a bike so the bag doesn’t flop around. Seriously this bag seems so high quality and based on first impressions we are very happy with our purchase. It was a good choice! Thanks for reaching out to me to let me know about your bags and for all your help getting it!

May Heavenly Father bless and protect you, Elder Denkers, and all the other Elders and Sisters laboring in the worldwide mission field!
At Zion Bags we believe in miracles and know there are angels all about us. We know that sometimes we can help others by responding to promptings. Missionaries are modern day Angels!
We’d like to share a letter with you from our 1st ever giveaway contest winner:
Dear Zion Bags,
I really appreciate the opportunity to win one of your missionary bags! My son has been on his mission for almost a year now and is in need of a new good bag. The funny thing about this is that I started worrying about his bag out of the blue. He hasn’t said anything to me about needing a new one, he wouldn’t do that. The day I started thinking about the bag I noticed your Instagram account liked my page, when I saw your name I clicked your link and saw the “win a bag.” I really feel like Heavenly Father lead me to see you guys. I got a picture today with my son holding his bag. I think his strap might be broken. This really means a lot to me. Thank you so much!
A week later we received this follow up letter:
We did receive the bag AND the light!!! Your bag is amazing and I was so excited to come home and find it there! My husband mailed it to our son and we just received an email that he got it! His exact words from his email was “So I got the new bag today and I love it! I can’t believe how much space is in that thing, I could practically move in. Also it is so much better on my back and shoulder. Thank you very much.”
I can’t express enough how grateful I am to you and our Heavenly Father. He truly does provide. Thanks Zion Bags!
Thank you sister Jones for sharing your story.
The story that Sister Jones is referring to is that in our giveaway we had only planned on giving away one bag and had already picked a random winner, a missionary who had just received his call. The miracle about this story is that when reading thru the responses to our giveaway contest we felt a prompting that this Sister Jones needed a bag as well and that we should send a 2nd free bag to her.
Little did we know that we would be answering her prayers.
We believe in miracles. Go out and be someone’s miracle angel this week.
Most all companies when designing a new product start with a price point, that is, what will someone be willing to pay for this product? At Zion Bags we started with the premise our young men and women who are entering the mission field deserve the very best and we have to design a bag worthy of their sacrifice and efforts and it has to be the very best missionary bag possible! To quote from a great movie “if we build it they will come”!
This concept of doing and offering the best, regardless of cost, price point and sacrifice, is very familiar to Mormons. Sure, we could build simpler temples that cost less. We could not have built the Conference Center as magnificent as it is, or not have such beautiful gardens on temple square and not be expanding the missionary program to the point that it requires new Mission Training Center’s be built to train ever increasing concourses of elders and sister missionaries. But that is not the Mormon way. We Mormons want to give our best to the Best!
And so it is with Zion Bags missionary bags!
We believe that the best missionaries deserve to enter the mission field with the very best tools and resources available. That is why we built the very best missionary bag and we invite you to compare and discover this for yourself. There is not a better designed, safer, more functional, more durable, and more professional bag for missionaries available today. And we are doing everything possible to make it the most affordable without compromise (check out our discounts and free shipping at www.zionbags.com).
And if there ever is a better missionary bag, we will have built it!
That’s our promise to you!
That’s the Zion Bags difference!
